From their web site:

The Celtic Gold Academy of Irish Dance, under the direction of Doireann Maoileidigh (pronounced Dirin MaLady) and her husband John Hoy was established in the Los Angeles area in 1984. The school is currently registered with An Coimisiun Le Rince Gaelacha, in Dublin, Ireland, The Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America, and The Western US Irish Dance Teachers Association.
Doireann’s family name is synonymous with the finest of Irish dancing throughout the world. The original school, Inis Ealga, was founded by Doireann’s father, Maitiu O’Maoileidigh, in Dublin, Ireland, over fifty years ago. Inis Ealga grew to be the top school in Ireland and Maitiu, along with his associate teacher, Marie Duffy (currently choreographer of "Lord of the Dance"), traveled throughout the US, Canada and Australia, sharing their expertise of an old Irish tradition that has quickly become a very active and much sought after art form.
